Android N with a revamped Multi-Window

While most of the devices are still getting the Android Marshmallow (6.0.1) updates, Google has released a Developer's preview of the new Android N. Developers have been continuously exploring this developer's preview and providing us with the new features in this new upgrade. One such feature in Android N is 'Multi-Window', this feature has been introduced in Android Lollipop but it has been upgraded to a whole new level.

In this update the screen of a handheld device can support a split screen in which two applications can be run side by side or one on top of another, for bigger devices like tab or a TV the application developers can provide a picture in picture mode. In the handheld version the size of the split screen can also be re sized according to our need just by dragging the interface line between the two applications.

Figure: Two apps running side by side in split screen mode

Android is providing the developers with Android N sdk to build and configure their applications according to their needs. If the developers wish to disable the multi-window option to provide a full screen experience to the customers, that option has also been provided to them by Android.

In addition to running applications in multi-window mode, users can even launch a new application in multi-window mode. This new version of Android will also be supporting Drag and Drop feature in which the user will be able to drag and drop data from one application to other application that are together sharing the screen. We can hope to see more exciting refinements in this version of Android in the days to come.

How To Play YouTube Videos In background While Multitasking

YouTube has one of the largest collection of video songs.Even after many song Apps like Saavn and Gaana, people still listen to songs on YouTube as new songs are released quite early as compared to these apps but as you are listening to your favorite song you get an email notification or whatsapp notification and as soon as you click on it,your music stops.

                                            credits-labnol

There were few apps like uListen, supertube, viral however they have been removed by google.Still there's one app which still works is Popup Video however it will play only initial five minutes and ask you to purchase the app.

So to help you out Here's a trick:

For Android

                                                                       Credits-Toi

1)The First requisite for this is a smartphone(just kidding),Mozilla Firefox browser.

2)Open YouTube Site in mozilla

3)Go to settings and click on desktop tab, this will redirect you to desktop version of YouTube

Now you can work on different apps while listening to your favourite music in the background

For iOS

                                                     Credits-Toi

To be truthful there's no trick here and you might have come across this accidentally and if not we will make that happen

1) Just go to YouTube website on your safari and let the video play

2)Now when you tap on Home button you will see your video has stopped

3)Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center and tap the Play button.

Now you can do whatever you want, however there's fall out that you have to remove the YouTube app else safari will redirect you to that app

Do let us know in the comment section if you find this useful

A Tool To Manage Your Digital Afterlife "Inactive Account Manager"

Did you ever think what would happen to all your files, folder, photos and other digital stuff after you die. What would happen  to your Gmail account, Google Drive documents, Picasa photos, and the other data you have stored with Google ? No right,But there is someone thinking about it and who else would it be except Google.

Google launched a tool known as "Inactive Account Manager".Google on their blog said "Not a great name, we know — and you’ll find it on your Google Account settings page. You can tell us what to do with your Gmail messages and data from several other Google services if your account becomes inactive for any reason."

An "Inactive Account Manager" can be used to direct Google to pass on data from online venues such as Google Drive, Gmail, YouTube, or social network Google+ to particular people, or be deleted after being dormant for too long.

If you are facing problem on howto do it or setup your Inactive account manager CNET has explained it quite well on their website,Please have a look at it if you need help.

I think soon Facebook,Twitter and other social websites will take this thing seriously and plan an Afterlife of Digital media.
